Nigeria would start their 2014 campaign by playing opening contest against Mali. Nigeria have been in the Group A of African Nations Championship 2014 where it would have clashes with Mozambique, South Africa other than the opening game with Mali. Nigeria would be hot favorite for the event.

Team News

Before this Nigeria have played a warm up game against Ethiopia in a friendly clash. Nigeria have also announced their squad that would participate in 3rd Orange African Nations Championship 2014 and FIFA World Cup 2014.

Nigerian Football Federation’s General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu said that Nigeria have good time for their important clashes this season and they are confident about team’s performance in Year 2014.

However, Nigeria’s Skipper and goal keeper Chigozie Agbim, Midfielder Joshua Obaje, forward Gbolahan Salami would be part of 23-men squad announced for CHAN 2014. FIFA U17 World cup 2013 winner Dele Alampasu would also join the team so early of his age.

So a mixture of three goal keepers, six mid-fielders, eight defenders and six forwarders have been picked up for the CHAN 2014 clashes that would also play as a test team for FIFA World Cup 2014 to be played in Brazil this summer.

Among the goal keepers there is a name, Alampasu who was selected as a best goalkeeper in U17 World Cup 2013 in UAE.
